About.

In 2018, a life crisis led us to leave everything behind and move our family to a small, remote island in the Canadian Pacific. There, surrounded by forests, wildlife, and dark starry nights, we began a path of rewilding & healing that, four years later, led us to create a retreat space of our own.

—Marc & Esther

We built Muntanya Màgica because we needed a place like it and couldn't find one.

Not a spa. Not a busy resort. Something quieter. A hectare of forest in the hills of Alt Penedès, nearly off-grid, where the land itself does most of the work and you're trusted to follow your own rhythm.

Marc started meditating in 1999. He spent years working in communications—including seven at the United Nations—before an illness led him to the Blue Star Yoga Ashram. Years later, he and Esther looked at their lives and decided there was more to themselves than they were living. They sold everything and left, ending up on a remote island in the Canadian Pacific surrounded by forest, rain, and dark starry nights. That time changed everything. He now guides morning practices and creative sessions with the unhurried presence of someone who genuinely has nowhere else he wants to be.

Esther is a somatic bodyworker, voice coach, and certified cannabis educator. She trained at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and spent years as head of the Voice Department at EOLIA drama institute before turning her full attention to healing work. Her sessions work directly with the body—the breath, the tissue, the intuitive holdings that talk therapy doesn't always reach.

We both cook. Guests consistently say the food is one of the best parts of being here.

We live on the land with our two daughters, Osho our Akita Inu, Simba our cat—both of whom attend most sessions uninvited and are universally beloved. The chickens keep their own schedule.

This is our labor of love.

We welcome you to it.
